Polyamory literally means "multiple love". Basically, it's the idea to be openminded in having a loving relationship with more than one person with the full knowledge and consent of everyone involved. If you ask various people who are polyamorous, you will get a different definition on what they think and varying ways each of them live a poly lifestyle. This group is for those who are polyamorous and those who are openminded to learning more.

Some of our members are celebate, gay, swingers, practice BDSM, and various other sexual tastes and preferences. We are openminded to any and all sexual tastes and no one is to be put down. Polyamory is the freedom to love others in which ever way feels appropriate. Sexual expression is but one expression of love and we practice many other ways of acting lovingly to those in our group. Key amongst these is a commitment to honest, transparent yet kind in our communication and to show respect and consideration of each others boundaries.

Polyamory is NOT cheating on your spouse or significant other in a monogomous relationship. Do NOT join this group unless all your partners are fully aware and accept your poly lifestyle. Do NOT join this group if your heart is set on cheating on your current partner. Do NOT join this group if you are seeking to only get laid. Harrassing, propositioning, and unwanted advances after being told 'No' in this group is NOT tolorated.

We have monthly discussion meetings about various topics relating to polyamory. We also have at least 2 social events in and around Philadelphia . The social events are on the 2nd Sunday and 4th Wednesday of each month. The discussion meeting dates will vary, depending on the host's schedule. All events are posted on the calendar and on our homepage.

We are setting up a new system for approving new memberships and retaining memberships of those already members. You will receive an email from an assistant organizer when you join if your profile isn't quite filled out correctly. You can call or email him if you have any concerns or questions. Afterward, you will receive a message from another assistant organizer who will be your 'big brother/sister'. They'll be there if you need some encouragment or poly related questions answered. It's understandable you might not have the time to take part on the message boards or make many of the events, but if you don't log into the site for 5 months, you will receive an email asking if you'd like to remain a member in the group. If, after a week, you do not respond, you will be removed from the group.

The Mission/Purpose of the Philadelphia Mindful Polyamory Meetup Group


Philadelphia Mindful Polyamory provides a safe and supportive environment for polyamorous and polycurious people to connect, learn, and grow.

We do this by:
1. Creating a safe and comfortable space for polyamorous and polycurious people to meet each other,
2. Continuing to educate ourselves and others about polyamory, and
3. Building a community of support through education, social events, and sharing.

We welcome people of all sexual and relationship orientations and identities, religious affiliations, spiritual beliefs, races and ethnic backgrounds, physical appearances and abilities, medical conditions, ages or other personal particulars.


Paramount to the poly ideology is full disclosure to all partners. Poly requires a very mature individual who is willing to put the love and effort necessary into the vast amount of communication and negotiation often involved in multi-partner relating. Gratuitous sex, a desire to avoid commitment, an unwillingness to practice empathy, and an extreme lack of self-confidence are incompatible with most successful polyamorous ventures.

We are a supportive network of individuals with a common social ideology, discovering our own forms of loving relationships without judgment. We are a person-to-person group that gathers for various events on a monthly basis. Our focus is on personal growth as related to the challenges and joys of multi-partner relating.
