Come by the Melton House for potluck and BBQ! Sam and Lissa will provide grills (gas and charcoal), non-alcoholic drinks (sweet tea, lemonade, Kool-Aid, etc.), and a pasta salad. You can bring your own meat/main dish and a side to share.
After lunch, we can wander down to Blues on the Fox (about a 4 block walk). Each year Aurora provides top-notch Blues performers from around the country combined with all of the typical elements of a festival: great music, good food, beverages, and Blues music vendors. This year the lineup will include Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Elvin Bishop, Eddy "The Chief" Clearwater, Corey Harris, Bettye LaVette, and Marcia Ball. All of this is offered in a beautiful and relaxed setting in downtown Aurora by the Illinois Fox River. The festival is FREE and open to the public and will commence rain or shine.
Outdoor chairs or a blanket, bug spray, and sunscreen are great ideas.
We DO NOT have air-conditioning, so there is no escape in the house if you are heat sensitive. We also have two cats.
